What entropy means
Entropy counts the guesses an attacker would need: each bit doubles them. Around 70 bits is strong for an online account; 100 or more is plenty for a key or a master password. The figure holds only for randomly generated values — a password you chose yourself is weaker than its length suggests.
How long should a password be?
For a password manager to remember, 16–20 random characters. For one you type, a passphrase of five or more words is easier and just as strong.
Where do the passphrase words come from?
They are made of random syllables rather than taken from a word list, so every word is equally likely and the strength shown is exact.
When should I use UUID v7 instead of v4?
Version 7 starts with the time, so values sort in creation order — better for database keys. Version 4 is fully random.
