Network tools
Focused tools that answer one question each and explain the answer. No account, no stored history.
Lookups
These query public registries and resolvers to answer your request.
- IP LookupIdentify any IPv4 or IPv6 address: type, owner, network and ASN.
- DNS LookupRead a domain’s A, AAAA, CNAME, MX, TXT, NS, SOA and CAA records.
- RDAP LookupQuery official registries for a domain, IP block or AS number.
- Reverse DNSFind the PTR record an address points back to.
- IPv4 / IPv6 TestDoes your connection have IPv4, IPv6 or both? Tested separately, not guessed.
Calculators and references
These run entirely in your browser. What you type is never sent anywhere.
- Subnet CalculatorWork out network, broadcast, usable range, masks and binary form.Runs entirely in your browser — nothing is sent anywhere
- CIDR CalculatorExpand a CIDR block, or check whether an address is inside one.Runs entirely in your browser — nothing is sent anywhere
- Local ChecksThe commands to answer, on your own machine, what a browser cannot.Runs entirely in your browser — nothing is sent anywhere
Diagnostics
What is deliberately not here
A tool that produces a confident-looking number it cannot actually measure is worse than no tool. These are left out on purpose:
- Download and upload speed tests. Meaningful throughput testing needs infrastructure this service does not have. The Network Report measures HTTP latency only, and says so.
- Port scanners. Scanning arbitrary hosts on request is a liability and an abuse vector.
- VPN, proxy and Tor detection. These produce probabilities. Presenting a guess as a verdict misleads people.
- Browser fingerprint uniqueness scores. Computing one means building the fingerprint. MyIPKit does not.
- Local network scanning. A browser cannot do it, and a site that tried would be scanning the networks of visitors who never agreed to it. The local checks page gives you the commands instead.
Several of these may arrive later, built properly and labelled honestly. See the roadmap in the project README.
